Billing & Revenue Manager – IT Managed Services
As Billing & Revenue Manager at Managed247, you will own the full cycle from signed contract to correct invoice, and from first term to renewal. You will make sure that what we sell, what we deliver and what we bill all match, and that our contracts are managed properly throughout their life. You will report to the CFO and work closely with our sales, service and finance teams.
Contract management
- Maintain the client contract register: start dates, terms, renewal dates, price uplifts, notice periods, cancellations and variations.
- Apply our General Terms & Conditions correctly, and know which clauses matter for billing, notice, price changes and service credits.
- Own the renewals process: diarise renewals well ahead, prepare renewal and uplift paperwork, and make sure no contract rolls over on the wrong terms or lapses unnoticed.
- Review contract variations, change requests and cancellations, and record their financial impact.
- Support contract negotiations with the commercial and financial detail.
Billing and revenue
- Own sales order processing: check orders against the contract and price list, record them, and make sure they are billed correctly.
- Track consumption against contract entitlements (for example support hours, licences and tickets) and raise over-usage for billing.
- Run monthly recurring billing and make sure each invoice agrees to the contract.
- Check recurring revenue and report on it: revenue by client and service, margin, and changes from new, upgraded and cancelled services.
- Prepare the revenue figures for month-end, including accruals and deferred income.
- Spot revenue leakage (services delivered but not billed) and fix the cause.
Disputes and client queries
- Handle billing and contract disputes from first query to resolution: gather the facts, check them against the contract, and respond clearly and professionally.
- Work with credit control so that disputes, purchase order problems and payment holds are resolved quickly.
- Escalate legal or high-value disputes to the CFO with a clear summary and a recommended position.
Process improvement
- Build and improve the processes, templates and checklists behind all of the above, and automate where you can.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience in billing, revenue or contract management, ideally in an MSP, IT services or other recurring-revenue business.
- Hands-on experience managing client contracts, reading and applying terms and conditions, and managing renewals.
- Experience resolving billing or contract disputes with clients, and the confidence to hold a position politely and firmly.
- Strong working knowledge of how contracts translate into invoices (recurring, usage-based and one-off).
- Confident with accounting software (we use Xero) and advanced Excel or Google Sheets.
- Good understanding of revenue recognition, accruals and deferred income. A finance qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or similar) is helpful but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work.
- Clear written communication. You will be writing to clients about contract and billing matters.
- Comfortable working on your own and improving processes without being asked.
Nice to have
- Experience with a PSA or ticketing tool such as ConnectWise, Autotask or HaloPSA.
- Experience with Microsoft CSP licence billing.
- Experience with the reporting and consolidation tools used alongside Xero.
- Contract management or commercial contracts training, or a CIPS or ICM qualification.
