Functions / Areas of Focus 1. Beverage Preparation & Quality ● Prepare coffee and beverages according to approved recipes. ● Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and related equipment. ● Maintain consistency in taste, temperature, portion, and presentation. ● Ensure beverage orders are completed accurately and on time. ● Maintain beverage preparation standards. 2. Guest Service & Sales [2] ● - Confidently upsell coffee, matcha, other beverages, and food items across the full menu. ● - Recommend food and beverage pairings to increase average check size & upselling ● - Explain food and beverage menu items and ingredients clearly when asked. ● - Stay composed and resolve guest issues quickly during peak periods. ● - Coordinate with kitchen and floor staff to keep service moving. 3. Bar Station & Equipment ● Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked beverage station. ● Complete opening and closing procedures. ● Clean and maintain coffee and beverage equipment. ● Follow correct equipment operating procedures. ● Report equipment issues and maintenance requirements. 4. Stock & Cost Control ● Monitor beverage ingredients and stock levels. ● Follow FIFO and correct storage procedures. ● Maintain proper portion control. ● Minimize wastage. ● Report shortages and stock requirements. 5. Hygiene & Compliance ● Follow food safety and hygiene standards. ● Maintain personal grooming and hygiene. ● Ensure safe handling and storage of ingredients. ● Maintain cleanliness throughout the shift. ● Follow company policies and operational procedures. Skills ● - Skilled at preparing espresso-based drinks, matcha, and specialty beverages to a consistent standard. ● - Hands-on experience operating and maintaining commercial coffee machines and grinders. ● - Natural, guest-first communicator who builds rapport quickly with families and kids. ● - Sharp attention to detail, from drink consistency to order accuracy. ● - Deep product knowledge paired with confident, natural upselling across the full menu. ● -Thrives under pressure during peak hours and high-volume weekends. ● -Disciplined about cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards. Qualifications & Requirements ● High school diploma or equivalent preferred. ● Barista certification is an advantage. ● 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred. ● Café, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred. ● Good English communication skills. ● Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
