What We're Looking For We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale one of our Lending teams at Cross River , building the technology that helps fintech partners originate, fund, service, and sell consumer and commercial loans across a compliant, end-to-end lifecycle. You’ll be a technical leader who balances hands-on engineering expertise with people management, driving reliable platforms and scalable solutions across complex domains. The ideal candidate is a strong engineer and people leader who is passionate about building high-performing teams that deliver mission-critical lending infrastructure at scale. Responsibilities: - Lead, mentor, and grow an engineering team while supporting recruiting, hiring, and career development - Partner with Product Management and cross-functional stakeholders to set priorities and deliver high-impact features - Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security - Own delivery from design to deployment and champion strong engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, and code review - Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement through monitoring, incident response, post-mortems, and data-driven decisions Qualifications: Required: - 5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3+ years in engineering management or technical leadership roles - Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, C#, or similar), with experience in SQL/NoSQL databases and caching - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and event-driven systems - Proven track record of building, leading, and scaling high-performing engineering teams - Experience delivering complex, distributed systems in production environments - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels Preferred: - Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or other regulated industries, ideally with Banking-as-a-Service or financial technology platforms - Experience with high-availability, high-throughput transaction processing systems Salary Range: $170,000.00 - $210,000.00 By submitting your application, you give Cross River permission to email, call, or text you using the contact details provided.
