We have been delivering audio-visual, lighting control and building automation on luxury hospitality, residential and heritage properties for over three decades, and a senior director is accountable on every major project. We need an experienced Commercial AV Second-Fix & Commissioning Engineer for an intensive four-week contract on a flagship luxury hotel development in central London — a Grade I listed building where the finishes are irreplaceable and the handover date is fixed. You will complete second-fix installation, rack builds, terminations and full system commissioning across guest suites, ballroom, restaurants, bars and back-of-house, working to a "right first time" standard. RESPONSIBILITIES – Second-fix installation: clean, precise second fix of AV hardware — displays, architectural speakers, flush touch panels, control keypads and motorised interfaces — with respect for finished heritage surfaces. – Rack building and cabling: rack wiring, loom dressing, labelling and structured terminations (Cat6, fibre, DSCR) to OKTO's rack standard and to fire and data regulations. – Commissioning and testing: power-up, configuration and commissioning of integrated AV systems, video-over-IP distribution, audio DSP matrices and control processors; witness testing with the client team. – Fault finding and snagging: isolate and resolve wiring faults, network issues and hardware faults through snagging and handover. – Coordination: work alongside OKTO project management, lighting control engineers and the main contractor to hold the design specification and milestone dates. – Documentation: complete test sheets, red-line drawing mark-ups and commissioning checklists for the O&M and handover pack. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS – Experience: proven field experience in second-fix installation, rack building and end-to-end commissioning on high-end commercial, corporate or luxury hospitality AV projects. – Platforms: strong working knowledge of Crestron, Q-SYS and Dante audio networking, or equivalent enterprise AV platforms. – Signal distribution: familiarity with commercial displays, video wall processors, matrix switchers and AV-over-IP routing. – Networking: solid grounding in IP networking, VLANs, subnetting and switch configuration. – Standards and safety: valid CSCS or ECS card; a consistent commitment to site safety, cleanliness and craftsmanship. – Logistics: based in or around London with your own reliable transport, professional hand and power tools and termination gear. On site: own PPE (company hi-viz provided); right-to-work evidence for site security; daily sign-in via the OKTO app. Extensive additional hours are available evenings and weekends at £43.75 per hour, pre-approved day by day.
