AutoCAD Draftsman

1. Job Purpose

To prepare accurate technical drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details for marble, granite, quartz, porcelain, and other stone works in accordance with approved architectural drawings, project specifications, site measurements, and client requirements.

1. Key Responsibilities

A. Technical Drawings and Drafting

• Prepare detailed AutoCAD shop drawings for marble and stone flooring, wall cladding, staircases, countertops, vanity tops, kitchen countertops, bar counters, and other stone installations.
• Prepare setting-out drawings, floor patterns, elevations, sections, cutting layouts, and installation details.
• Develop fabrication drawings with accurate dimensions, thicknesses, edge profiles, joints, cut-outs, and fixing details.
• Prepare material layouts and slab cutting plans to minimize material wastage.
• Revise drawings based on site conditions, client comments, consultant feedback, and approved changes.

B. Site Coordination and Measurements

• Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and the measurement team to obtain accurate site dimensions.
• Review site measurements and verify dimensions against architectural and approved construction drawings.
• Incorporate actual site conditions into shop drawings and fabrication details.
• Coordinate with the factory and installation teams to ensure drawings are practical and suitable for execution.

C. Submittals and Document Control

• Prepare and submit shop drawings for consultant and client approval.
• Maintain proper records of drawing submissions, revisions, approvals, and as-built drawings.
• Incorporate consultant comments and maintain a clear revision history.
• Assist in preparing technical submissions, material layouts, and project-related documentation when required.

D. Factory and Production Coordination

• Coordinate with the production team regarding cutting dimensions, material thicknesses, edge finishes, mitre joints, and machine fabrication requirements.
• Ensure approved drawings are issued to the factory before production.
• Clarify drawing details with machine operators, fabricators, and site teams whenever necessary.
• Check drawings for dimensional accuracy and constructability before release for fabrication.

E. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with project engineers, estimators, procurement, production, and installation teams.
• Ensure drawings are prepared according to project schedules and submission deadlines.
• Identify discrepancies between architectural drawings, site measurements, and project specifications, and report them to the concerned manager.
• Assist in preparing as-built drawings and final project documentation.

1. Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Drafting, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Proven experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman, preferably in marble, granite, quartz, porcelain, or interior fit-out works.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting and technical detailing.
• Knowledge of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, cutting layouts, elevations, sections, and installation details.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of stone fabrication processes, edge profiles, joints, cut-outs, and installation methods is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and PDF drawing review tools.
• Good attention to detail, coordination, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under project deadlines and handle multiple drawing submissions.

• Accuracy and completeness of shop and fabrication drawings.
• Timely submission and revision of drawings.
• Reduction in drawing-related fabrication errors and material wastage.
• Compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and site measurements.
• Timely incorporation of client and consultant comments.
• Effective coordination with project, factory, and installation teams.
• Proper maintenance of drawing registers and revision records.

1. Authority and Accountability

The AutoCAD Draftsman is responsible for the accuracy, coordination, and timely preparation of assigned drawings. Any discrepancies, missing information, or technical conflicts must be reported to the Project Manager or Operations Manager before fabrication or installation proceeds.

1. General Duties

Perform other reasonable technical and drafting-related duties assigned by management in line with project requirements and company policies.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
