Auto Shop Service Writer / Advisor - EXPERIENCED
Schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) & Saturday (8:00 AM – 2:00 PM), Open Flexibility Tue, Wed to cover shifts if ever needed About the Role We are looking for an EXPERIENCED , customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team on a consistent, schedule. As the main link between our customers and our service technicians, you will play a critical role in delivering clear communication, accurate estimates, ordering needed parts, and providing top-tier service. Key Responsibilities Greet customers promptly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and create detailed repair orders. Act as the liaison between customers and technicians to ensure accurate diagnostics and timely repairs. Order, track, and manage necessary automotive parts from vendors to support scheduled repairs and maintenance. Translate technical vehicle recommendations into clear, easy-to-understand options for customers. Build and present detailed cost estimates and secure customer approval before work begins. Manage workflow to ensure promised completion times are met. Process payments, handle customer inquiries, and maintain accurate service records. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: MUST HAVE - Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience as an Auto Service Advisor / Writer (Required). Parts Sourcing: Hands-on experience ordering automotive parts and working with parts vendors/catalogs. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of general automotive mechanics, maintenance schedules, and repair processes. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset. Computer Skills: Proficiency with shop management software (e.g., Mitchell1, Shop-Ware, RO Writer, or similar) and general POS systems. Reliability & Flexibility: Must be dependable for the core schedule License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. *** Must live local to Long Beach and have dependable transportation to and from work. *** Must have the work availability as posted.
