The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong. CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is a wholly owned subsidiary of CMU OmniClear Holdings Limited, which is jointly owned by the Exchange Fund (as the majority shareholder) and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (as the minority shareholder). It carries out the operation and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the HKMA. As part of the critical financial market infrastructure in Hong Kong, CMU is a central securities depository (CSD), providing secure and efficient clearing, settlement and custodian services for securities. We now invite eligible candidates to join our dynamic and inclusive company for the exciting opportunity below: Associate Director, Asset Servicing Operations Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Global Securities System (GSS) Initiative Support Partner closely with the Head of Asset Servicing Operations to drive the strategic vision of the GSS initiative. Enhance CMUOC’s post-trade servicing model by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices. Provide high-level subject matter expertise to the GSS Project Manager and Operations team, contributing to project deliverables, progress reporting, and stakeholder updates. 2. Operational Excellence & Target Operating Model Design Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design, refine, and implement the future Target Operating Model for asset servicing. Ensure seamless day-to-day operations while supporting the transition to new servicing frameworks. Maintain rigorous standards for operational excellence and regulatory compliance across all asset servicing activities. 3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management Act as a key liaison between internal teams, external vendors, and market infrastructure providers to ensure the successful implementation of asset servicing requirements. Lead vendor onboarding and implementation activities, ensuring all partners align with CMUOC’s operational standards and service level agreements. Build and maintain strong relationships with custodians and institutional clients to ensure high levels of service delivery. 4. Market Expertise & Client Solutions Leverage deep knowledge of the Hong Kong and China markets to identify evolving client needs and market trends. Develop and propose tailored servicing solutions that address specific client challenges and enhance value proposition. Provide insights on local regulatory changes and market practices to inform global service strategies. Requirements University degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline. At least 5 years of relevant experience in securities services, preferably with market infrastructure providers or global banks. Proven expertise in asset servicing operations, with strong knowledge of regulatory and operational frameworks in Hong Kong and China. Experience managing end-to-end post-trade processes, including settlement, reconciliation, and reporting. Extensive background in corporate actions operations and lifecycle management. Experience leading global asset servicing teams and supervising account operators in a hub environment. Demonstrated success in client‑facing roles, including pitching and relationship management with institutional clients. Familiarity with fixed income and equities products. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to handle client inquiries. Analytical problem‑solver with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Excellent command of English and Chinese, with fluency in Mandarin. Candidates with supplementary experience and qualifications will also be considered, even if they do not meet all of the specified requirements above. (Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Senior Associate level.)
