The ideal candidate would live in this area and be willing to build a practice here in our team-oriented environment. General Duties - Handle civil litigation cases, including case analysis, strategy development, and trial preparation. - Conduct legal research to support case arguments, motions, and legal opinions. - Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests. - Assist partner-level attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials. - Manage case files and maintain accurate records of case developments and correspondence in our case management system. - Meet with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather necessary information for litigation purposes. - Stay informed about relevant changes in civil law statutes and regulations to ensure compliance and effective advocacy. What We Expect from You - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. - Admission to the Texas bar and in good standing. - Proven experience in Texas civil litigation. - Proficiency in legal writing with excellent attention to detail. - Familiarity with Mac computers. - Ability to perform legal research efficiently using Lexis and other legal research tools. - Strong analytical skills. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to work well in a team environment.
