We're an established firm serving families across North Texas in estate planning, probate, elder law, real estate and family law. We have an active caseload ready for the right attorney. About Us WG Law is a locally owned firm that has served North Texas families since 2009. With offices in McKinney and Southlake, we've built our practice on long-term client relationships and referrals. Because we're locally owned, decisions get made here, not in a corporate office. You won't deal with layers of red tape or bureaucracy, and you'll have a direct line to firm leadership. Responsibilities - Handle guardianship matters from intake through final orders, including applications, hearings, and annual accountings and reports - Serve as attorney for applicants and, where appointed, as attorney ad litem - Advise families through less-restrictive alternatives to guardianship when appropriate - Work closely with our associate attorneys, legal assistants and intake team to keep cases moving and clients informed - Depending on your experience and interests, handle matters in related practice areas such as probate, estate planning, or family law What we're looking for - Licensed to practice law in Texas, in good standing - State Bar of Texas guardianship certification, or the ability to obtain it before taking appointments - Guardianship experience preferred; newer attorneys and those switching practice areas are welcome to apply - Comfortable in the courtroom and with contested hearings - Clear, compassionate communicator - Organized, responsive, and committed to timely time entry and case updates What we offer - Competitive based salary (based on experience) plus monthly bonuses - Health benefits - Paid time off - An established practice with a steady caseload, so you can focus on practicing law rather than building a book from scratch - Direct mentorship from the firm's founder - Experienced support staff and established systems - In-office position at our McKinney location Mentorship for the right fit You don't need to be a seasoned guardianship practitioner to be a great fit.
