Job Objective The role will strategically oversee and optimize vendor relationships. By implementing best practices and innovative strategies, the aim is to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, minimize waste, and ensure the timely availability of high-quality products. The objective is to drive continuous improvement, foster strong partnerships with vendors, and align with the company’s long-term objectives for sustainable growth and operational excellence. C. Primary Responsibilities1. Vendor Management Develop and implement vendor management strategies and best practices. Establish and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate vendor performance. Conduct regular performance assessments with vendors to discuss performance, resolve issues, and identify improvement opportunities. Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure the best possible prices and service levels. Act as the primary point of contact for vendor-related issues, facilitating timely and effective resolution. Ensure that vendors comply with all relevant legal, regulatory, and company-specific requirements. Manage and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of vendor billing and payment processes, maintaining financial integrity and fostering positive vendor relationships. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure collaboration and mutual success. Lead supplier audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with ethical standards, legal regulations, and industry best practices. Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendors. 2. Sourcing & Delivery Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans that align with the company’s long-term objectives. Research and identify potential vendors that meet the company’s requirements. Conduct thorough evaluations and background checks to ensure vendors meet quality, capability, and reliability standards. Facilitate the onboarding process for new vendors, ensuring they understand the company’s expectations and standards. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements. Collaborate closely with internal departments to understand their sourcing needs, specifications, and requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering partnerships based on trust, reliability, and mutual benefits. Conduct market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and best practices. Conduct regular reviews and analyses of sourcing data and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions. 3. Scrap Management Develop and execute a comprehensive recycling plan to reduce waste from old diamonds received through the retail exchange program by optimizing resource utilization. Create and promote strategies to encourage and raise awareness among employees about the importance of recycling practices, accelerating processes to unblock capital and enhance operational efficiency. Develop and implement procedures aimed at reducing waste and improving the recycling process, ensuring continuous enhancement of recycling efficiency and effectiveness. Oversee the sorting and processing of gold and loose diamonds, ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the recycling workflow. Establish and maintain partnerships with melting vendors and factories to ensure consistent recycling of old diamonds. Regularly analyze recycling performance and associated costs to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Stay updated on trends and standards in recycling practices and establish control mechanisms to ensure compliance and optimal performance. Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer, and HR. E.
