Assistant Project Manager/Estimator
Overview: Are you a driven construction professional looking to take the next step in your structural steel career? We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to work directly alongside our Project Managers to help oversee structural and miscellaneous steel projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities: Assist in developing and tracking project schedules, submittals, and budgets. Coordinate daily operations with subcontractors, suppliers, field crews, and detailing teams. Monitor project progress, track Requests for Information (RFIs) and Change Orders, and log potential risks. Support clear communication between engineers, architects, general contractors, and internal stakeholders. Help ensure project compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Assist in tracking the fabrication, delivery, and erection of structural steel components. Maintain accurate project documentation, meeting minutes, and closeout records. Qualifications: 1–3 years of experience in project coordination or assistant management, preferably in steel or general construction. Basic understanding of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection processes. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask effectively both independently and within a collaborative team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to construction project management software. Additional Skills: Familiarity with reading structural blueprints, building codes, and shop drawings. Basic exposure to BIM (Building Information Modeling) software. Background or training in welding and fabrication processes (a plus). Work Environment: Mix of office environment and job-site visits as needed.
