Assistant Production Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Production Manager in planning, organizing, and supervising daily plant production activities.
• Monitor production schedules, output targets, and operational performance to ensure production plans are achieved.
• Supervise production supervisors, operators, and plant staff to maintain smooth and efficient operations.
• Ensure production activities comply with food safety regulations, quality standards, hygiene requirements, and company procedures.
• Monitor production processes for dairy products, including milk processing, pasteurization, homogenization, filling, packaging, and other relevant operations.
• Coordinate with the Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to avoid production delays.
• Monitor the performance of production equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials, packaging materials, manpower, utilities, and other production resources.
• Identify production bottlenecks, investigate operational issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor production losses, material wastage, rejection rates, and overall operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), workplace safety, and applicable food safety requirements.
• Maintain production reports, shift records, downtime reports, and other operational documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
• Assist in training, developing, and evaluating production employees.
• Ensure proper housekeeping, sanitation, and compliance with plant safety standards.
• Prepare production performance reports and provide updates to management.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in production operations, preferably within the dairy, food processing, or FMCG manufacturing industry.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a production plant is preferred.
• Good knowledge of dairy processing operations, production planning, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of HACCP, GMP, food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety standards.
• Experience in production reporting, manpower planning, inventory control, and performance monitoring.
• Strong leadership, team management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good computer skills, particularly MS Excel and production reporting systems.
• Willingness to work in shifts and support plant operations as required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a dairy manufacturing plant or large-scale food production facility.
• Knowledge of pasteurization, homogenization, UHT processing, filling, packaging, and CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems, where applicable.
• Familiarity with production KPIs, OEE, downtime analysis, yield improvement, and waste reduction.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP or similar manufacturing systems.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives and standard operating procedures.

Pay: AED9,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
