ASSISTANT MANAGER - (PROM/BRIDAL EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL) – TEMP TO PERMANENT

Proms & Beyond is looking for an Assistant Manager to help run our boutique. You’ll report directly to our Founder, keep the shop running smoothly day to day, lead our styling team on the shop floor and drive sales through our busiest months of the year.

This is a temp-to-permanent role. It starts on a fixed-term contract from January to June 2027, at 30 hours per week, with paid training in December 2026. For the right person, it then moves to a permanent position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Run the boutique

• Act as keyholder, opening and closing the boutique
• Keep the shop floor, fitting rooms and stockroom immaculate and appointment-ready
• Be the first point of contact for the team and clients when our Founder is off site

Drive sales

• Lead the team towards store sales targets, tracking progress daily and weekly
• Report on sales performance to our Founder
• Style and sell to your own clients, leading by example on the shop floor

Manage stock

• Manage deliveries, goods-in and stock checks
• Place and track orders, keeping availability accurate for clients
• Make sure client orders are processed and ready on time for collection

Lead the team

• Support and motivate our Senior and Junior Stylists on the shop floor
• Coach the team on styling, selling and client care

Represent the brand

• Create social media content in store and appear on camera representing the boutique

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Aged 18 or over
• Weekends are essential during busy prom season (September to Mid July)
• Experience in a prom or bridal boutique
• Previous supervisory or management experience in retail
• A proven track record of hitting sales targets
• Strong organisational skills, with experience handling stock, orders and deliveries
• Confident with tills, email and basic reporting (Shopify experience is a bonus)
• A calm, confident leader who stays on top of things when the shop is busy
• A warm personality and a genuine love of fashion
• Comfortable on camera and on social media
• Available weekends, weekday evenings and school holidays, especially during peak season
• Looking for a long-term role and keen to grow with the business
