Position Title: Assistant Logistics Operations Manager Title of Immediate Supervisor: Logistics Operations Manager Risk of Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens: Moderate Job Summary: The Assistant Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the Logistics Department operations for Hospital to Home, LLC. Standard hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. with the possibility of additional hours, including nights and weekends, based upon company need. Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with the implementation of any company-based initiatives. Assist with maintaining an evidence-based asset management program to maximize efficiency, streamline logistics operations, and ensure compliance with state and federal law. Assist with auditing and maintaining controlled substances across the company, in accordance with state and federal law. Review forecasted trends, monitor to prevent loss, continue to supply chain processes, and evaluate department productivity. Monitor inventory needs to include supply orders or requests, warehouse optimization, distribution, and record keeping. Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with key vendors to assist in the negotiation of contracts and rates. Provide leadership and guidance to the logistics team to include coordinating staff schedules, hiring and training employees, developing and implementing department policies and procedures, and supporting problem resolution and decision making. Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations growth and operational needs. Accurately monitor and track all owned equipment and supplies using an inventory/asset management system. Accurately document all preventative maintenance using an asset management system, in accordance with state and federal law. Assist with the recruitment and selection of employees, based on applicant credentials and qualifications including training and licensure. Verify education, experience, training, licensure, or certification, as appropriate to job responsibilities. Adhere to a strict policy of non-discrimination both with respect to hiring and with respect to treatment of employees. Coordinate a department specific orientation program for all direct reports, including an introduction to the organization, staff, employee rules, and responsibilities. Enforce safe work behavior and maintain a safe worksite. Maintain accurate digital and electronic records. Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities. Complete exit interviews with departing staff when needed. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Job Conditions: All employees, unless able to furnish an accommodation letter, are required to complete field orientation, which may involve stooping, bending, climbing, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting as a team. Position may be stressful in terms of meeting deadlines and managing schedules. It requires regular lifting of up to 250 pounds as a team, as well as the ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Travel may be required, by car or airplane to local, out-of-town or state seminars, conferences, or meetings. Equipment and Program Operation: Utilization of computer, calculator, multi-line telephone, copy machine, fax machine, Microsoft Office Suite, Traumasoft, Operative IQ, Samsara, and other computer-based systems. Robust understanding of necessary medical equipment as required on an advanced life support ambulance. Company Information: Has access to patient records, employee records, and financial records which may be discussed with the Board of Directors, immediate supervisor, and quality assurance department staff, as well as outside government agencies if mandated by law. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and leadership skils. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them to a team when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management OR equivalent experience. Required: Active Virginia EMT certification (or higher) in good standing with all required Federal and State regulations.
