The position drives the collective achievement of institutional revenue targets by ensuring that present CCE business units and program offerings are market-responsive, operationally sound, and aligned with University branding and quality standards. The role leads business development initiatives through the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of strategic client and partner relationships, supporting the Center’s growth and sustainability. It also oversees internal operations, including office management and financial review, and ensures compliance with governance, policy, and institutional requirements to support disciplined and accountable operations. Main Duties and Responsibilities: I. Strategic Leadership - Analyzes internal and external data (market trends, benchmarking, feedback) to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities. - Conducts market scanning and client needs assessment to anticipate current and emerging requirements. - Benchmarks corporate training and executive education practices. - Engages clients to understand needs and align offerings accordingly. - Consolidates insights, analyses, and translates insights into clear recommendations on strategies and initiative for executive decision-making. - Provides strategic input on CCE’s program directions, policies, and standards, ensuring relevance, innovation, adaptability to emerging needs (e.g., digital and blended learning), and alignment with University plans and guidelines. - Anticipates implications of strategic choices on revenue, quality, and operations. - Supports long-term planning while ensuring near-term operational coherence. - Prepares recommendations for strategic initiatives and improvements. - Oversees the Center’s operations and core programs, ensuring alignment of strategies, revenue targets, and collaborative execution, in support of the Executive Director. - Provides operational direction and guidance to CCE’s core business units, monitoring performance, and providing guidance to maintain alignment with strategic priorities. - Facilitates regular coordination among the CCE sections to ensure that plans, initiatives, activities, and processes are aligned, integrated, and executed cohesively. - Reviews and analyzes program plans, initiatives, and progress across Sections to ensure quality and alignment with CCE and University goals. II. Business Development and Revenue Enablement - Leads the design and implementation of business development strategies that drive revenue growth, ensure the sustainability of core programs and existing business units, and expand the Center’s portfolio, subject to the review and approval of the Executive Director. - Identifies, develops, and pursues new business opportunities for the current business units to expand CCE’s reach and impact. - Balances innovation with sustainability and continuity of core programs. - Reviews, oversees, and recommends marketing and sales strategies and initiatives to support revenue targets and market reach. - Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives across all business units using enrollment data, campaign performance metrics, and client feedback, and recommends improvements. - Cultivates and nurtures strategic relationships with corporate, government, academic, and institutional partners. - Represents CCE in external engagements, dialogues, and partnerships, and develops and negotiates CCE offerings within delegated authority and in coordination with the Executive Director. III. Program Quality and Brand Stewardship - Reviews program plans and cross-sectional initiatives for alignment with quality and branding standards. - Promotes consistency across Sections while respecting functional differences. - Identifies inconsistencies or risks to institutional reputation. - Ensures that program design, delivery, and materials comply with UMCO branding and institutional quality standards. - Coordinates marketing and business development functions to ensure that branding standards are upheld across all client-facing materials and programs. - Monitors program outcomes and client feedback, using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement. IV. Operational, Financial, and Risk Management - Identifies operational, financial, and reputational risks and recommends mitigation measures to support disciplined and accountable operations. - Reviews consolidated financial reports, with attention to operational reports, trends, variances, and risks. - Supports budget planning and monitoring, ensuring resource efficiency and alignment with revenue targets. - Ensures compliance with governance, policy, and reporting requirements, flagging issues early and recommends corrective actions. - Consolidates evaluation results, audit findings, and performance reports from all sections for endorsement to the Executive Director - Maintains accurate documentation and records, ensuring compliance with governance and institutional requirements. - Applies sound judgment in delegated authority contexts. V. Office and People Management - Sets clear expectations, goals, and performance standards for the assigned sections, in alignment with Center, School, and University. - Manages the performance of the assigned Section Heads and Program Directors by setting standards and targets, monitoring outcomes, evaluating performance, and providing development opportunities - Coaches, mentors, and guides direct reports to resolve performance concerns, enhance leadership capacity, and identify developmental or training needs. - Addresses performance concerns constructively and escalates when necessary. - Oversees work assignments and scope of responsibilities of the assigned sections to ensure proper collaboration, timely and quality execution of programs and initiatives. - Fosters collaboration across Sections. - Supports recruitment and onboarding of staff. - Reviews and evaluates policies and standards to ensure alignment with University goals and industry best practices - Oversees day-to-day office administration and operational processes to ensure continuity, efficiency, and compliance with institutional requirements. - Ensures operational continuity of the Center in the absence of the Executive Director, within delegated authority. VI. Education and Experience Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Economics, Education Management, or a related field is required. - A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Education, or a related discipline is highly preferred. - At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, continuing education, corporate training, professional services, or related fields, including: - Experience in business development, client engagement, or revenue-generating initiatives - Experience in financial review, budget monitoring, or resource management - Supervisory or people management experience, preferably leading managers, program heads, or equivalent roles - Experience working in cross-functional or matrix environments and engaging senior leaders or external partners - Experience in higher education, executive education, or professional development institutions is an advantage.
