The firm had the opportunity to acquire extensive experience in designing and developing a great number of projects in the midst of the construction boom in the country. Over the years, AAAS has generated many significant projects, all underlined by a commitment to sustainable systems and a modern aesthetic sense that embraces constantly the historical and cultural context of each project. AAAS has pushed by that the boundaries of architecture, giving its design a sensation of force and movement and producing a continuous dialogue of functional architecture and sculptural form and a charming connection between the past and the present. Job Description AAAS is currently seeking a creative and experienced Architectural Design Manager to lead our architectural design team in Abu Dhabi . Responsibilities: - Lead the architectural design process from concept development through schematic design, detailed design, tender documents, and construction support. - Manage and mentor the architectural design team, ensuring high-quality design output and effective coordination across projects. - Prepare, review, and approve architectural drawings, specifications, material schedules, and presentation materials. - Ensure all architectural designs comply with project briefs, client requirements, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. - Coordinate with clients, internal stakeholders, and external design consultants to ensure smooth architectural design integration. - Present design concepts and technical solutions to clients, authorities, and project teams. - Review and verify architectural shop drawings, material submittals, samples, mock-ups, and finishes for compliance with the approved design intent. - Provide architectural support during construction by responding to RFIs, reviewing site-related design queries, and ensuring design intent is maintained. - Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi Municipality / DMT / local authority requirements , building codes, and relevant international architectural standards. - Drive the integration of sustainable design principles, modern aesthetics, and cultural context into all architectural projects. - Manage design schedules, resource allocation, and design documentation control. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture . - 8 to 15 years of architectural design experience, with proven experience in a Design Manager, Senior Architect, or Lead Architect role. - UAE / GCC experience is required, with strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi Municipality / DMT / local authority requirements . - Proven experience working on the Engineering Consultant / Design Consultancy side . - Strong portfolio of architectural projects, preferably within the UAE or GCC. - Comprehensive knowledge of architectural design, detailing, finishes, façade systems, waterproofing, and construction documentation. - Expert ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference design drawings, consultant IFC drawings, approved shop drawings, and technical specifications. - Solid familiarity with relevant international architectural standards and local building codes. - Proficient in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and BIM workflows. - Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting, presentations, and design documentation. - Strong professional communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset. - Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
