We work with many of the leading content providers and OTT Platforms around the world, providing them with high-value, premium video content and channels We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer who bridges the gap between development and support. The ideal candidate combines strong server-side programming (PHP, Python, Node.js) with client-side expertise (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to both build, enhance, and troubleshoot full-stack applications. You will leverage deep networking knowledge and proficiency in Linux and Mac operating systems to deliver excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and feature development for critical production environments. Key Responsibilities : - Incident Management : Diagnose and resolve application/system outages, analysing logs and performance statistics to identify root causes. - Full-Stack Support : Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack, including front-end browser debugging, backend API services, and database queries. - Server & OS Administration : Maintain and configure Linux and Mac environments, including patching, user management, and service monitoring. - Networking : Utilise knowledge of TCP/IP , DNS , DHCP , and firewalls to troubleshoot connectivity and service interaction issues. - Collaboration : Partner with development teams to validate fixes, manage code migrations, and improve application stability and performance. - Documentation : Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles for recurring issues and resolution steps. Required Qualifications : Technical Skills : - Server-Side : Proficiency in at least one server language (e.g., PHP , Python or Node.js ). - Client-Side : Strong understanding of HTML , CSS , JavaScript , and browser debugging tools. - OS Expertise : Hands-on experience administering Linux (Debian, Arch) and Mac OS. - Networking : Solid grasp of TCP/IP , HTTP/HTTPS , DNS , and network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark). - Databases : Ability to write and analyse complex SQL queries. - Scripting : Experience with automation scripts (Bash, PowerShell, or Python). Core Competencies : - Excellent Troubleshooting : Proven ability to perform root cause analysis in high-pressure, 24/7 production environments. - Problem-Solving : Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail. Education/Experience : - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - 2+ years of experience in application support, DevOps, or full-stack development. Preferred Skills : - Experience with cloud platforms ( AWS , GCP , Backblaze ). - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools ( Ansible , Docker ). - Knowledge of SIEM / monitoring tools. - ITIL certification or experience with IT service management processes. No Agencies Pay: €45,000.00-€60,000.00 per year Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ranelagh, County Dublin
