# Analyst - Smart Fees **SmartStream** · Mumbai, Maharashtra · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: сегодня* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role The incumbent will join the Smart Fees (Fees & Expense Management) department and be responsible for the analysis, reconciliation, and management of fees related to Brokerage, Clearing, Exchange, and other market infrastructure services in accordance with client service-level agreements. The role requires a strong understanding of OTC and Listed Derivatives products, fee structures, invoice processing, and exception management. The successful candidate will be expected to independently manage complex reconciliations, drive issue resolution with external vendors and clients, contribute to process improvements, and support junior team members. In addition to operational responsibilities, the candidate should demonstrate a strong aptitude for technology, automation, and emerging AI solutions. We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys exploring new tools and technologies, and can identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce manual effort. Key Responsibilities Operations & Reconciliations Reconcile fees related to OTC and Listed Derivatives products, including CDS, IRS, FX, Equities, Bonds, Futures, and Options. Perform detailed analysis of brokerage, clearing, exchange, and regulatory fee calculations. Independently manage complex exceptions and disputes through to resolution. Review, validate, and process invoices while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and control. Ensure all client SLAs are met and proactively escalate critical issues where required. Process Improvement & Controls Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual processes, and strengthen controls. Perform root cause analysis on recurring exceptions and implement sustainable solutions. Contribute to the enhancement of operational procedures, policies, and SOPs. Support audit, compliance, and control-related activities through accurate documentation and evidence management. Technology, Automation & AI Innovation Proactively explore AI, automation, and productivity tools that can improve operational processes. Identify opportunities to utilize Generative AI, data analytics, workflow automation, and intelligent process optimization. Work closely with Business Analysts, Development, QA, and Project teams to define and implement process improvements. Participate in innovation initiatives, proof-of-concepts, and automation projects. Act as a champion for continuous improvement and technology adoption within the team. Leadership & Knowledge Sharing Share product, process, and client knowledge across the team. Act as a subject matter expert for assigned products, processes, or client portfolios. Take ownership of deliverables and contribute towards overall team objectives. Requirements 2-3 years of experience in Investment Banking Operations, Brokerage, Fees & Expense Management, Reconciliations, or related Financial Services functions. Strong understanding of OTC and Listed Derivatives products and trade lifecycle concepts. Experience managing client and vendor relationships. Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills. Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to independently manage complex operational tasks and drive initiatives to completion. Strong interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies, with an ability to identify practical business applications. Desirable Skills Exposure to Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, Power Automate, or similar technologies. Experience using AI tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or comparable platforms. Demonstrated track record of implementing automation, efficiency, or process improvement initiatives.
