Analyst at Apricum – The Cleantech Advisory

Take the next step in M&A — exclusively in the energy transition

About Apricum

Apricum – The Cleantech Advisory is a boutique M&A and strategy advisory firm focused on small to medium-sized companies across Europe’s renewable energy and cleantech markets. Established in 2008 and headquartered in Berlin, we support companies and investors in M&A transactions across the energy transition.

What sets Apricum apart?

We combine strategy advisory insight, investment banking proficiency and deep technical industry knowledge, backed by strong values and culture. We are a lean, close-knit core team supported by a network of around 50 senior advisors, which gives us the expertise of a much larger firm while staying agile and personal. We are proud of our diverse, international team, our commitment to the highest-quality results for clients, our supportive culture and our shared passion for the energy transition.

Your position

Apricum’s investment banking business is growing fast, and we need more M&A execution capacity to support our clients in driving the energy transition. We are looking for an Analyst in our Berlin team whose personal growth can keep pace with ours. We are highly collaborative and promote only team players.

You will work with corporates, investment funds and growth companies on asset and corporate M&A or private capital markets mandates, in close collaboration with the Managing Partner.

This role is home-based, ideally in or near Berlin, working with colleagues across our team and senior advisor network in person as needed and virtually day to day. For an outstanding candidate, we would consider other European locations. We invest in regular in-person gatherings to keep our culture strong despite our distributed way of working.

Our offer in brief

  • Work on sell-side and buy-side corporate M&A transactions, mainly in the European market, at a renowned advisory boutique
  • Manage transactions with increasing autonomy under the Managing Partner
  • Join a small, high-caliber team with deep sector expertise
  • Receive a competitive compensation package
  • Work remotely from your home base, ideally in or near Berlin, and join company events in Berlin
  • Grow with the company and take on new opportunities as it expands
  • Build industry expertise that investment banks rarely match

Your profile

Please make sure you meet these key requirements before applying.

  • You have 1-3 years’ full-time corporate finance experience at a respected bank, corporate finance boutique or in-house renewable energy M&A team
  • You have a solid grasp of accounting, valuation and corporate finance fundamentals, and you meet high financial modeling standards
  • You are analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong academic record
  • You do not need prior energy experience. We hire for attitude, and we ask for evidence of your excellence and high standards
  • You speak and write German at a native level. This is mandatory
  • You communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written
  • You have a strong interest in energy topics and enthusiasm for the energy transition
