Contract can be renewed, depeding of the person's performance. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineers and project managers to develop a reliable report-automation system that converts project data, field information, laboratory results, figures, tables, and technical inputs into consistent, professional reports. This is a results-oriented contract with a clearly defined objective: deliver a functional and scalable report-automation solution that can be integrated into GeoTerra’s operations. Key Responsibilities Review GeoTerra’s existing report templates and reporting processes. Identify repetitive tasks and opportunities for automation. Develop AI-assisted workflows for geotechnical, environmental, hydrogeological, and materials-testing reports. Automate the transfer of information from spreadsheets, databases, field forms, and laboratory results into report templates. Develop systems to generate report sections, tables, summaries, appendices, and standardized recommendations. Integrate large language models and document-generation tools into secure, reliable workflows. Develop quality-control features to identify missing information, inconsistencies, abnormal results, and formatting errors. Ensure generated reports follow approved templates, terminology, numbering, styles, and branding. Implement human-review and approval steps so that engineers retain final technical control. Test the system using completed and active projects. Document the solution and prepare clear user instructions. Train GeoTerra employees on the proper use of the report-automation system. Protect confidential client, project, and company information throughout development. Expected Deliverables By the end of the six-month contract, the AI Engineer will be expected to deliver: A detailed assessment of the current reporting process. A structured and reusable library of approved report templates. A functional report-automation platform or workflow. Automated generation of selected engineering report types. Integration with relevant data sources, spreadsheets, and document templates. Quality-control and validation tools. User documentation and technical documentation. Training for the Canadian and Moroccan teams. A final deployment and knowledge-transfer plan. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in artificial intelligence, computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related field. Practical experience developing AI-powered automation solutions. Strong programming skills, particularly in Python. Experience working with large language models, APIs, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation. Experience automating Microsoft Word and Excel documents. Knowledge of document-generation tools, structured data processing, and database integration. Experience extracting and processing information from PDFs, spreadsheets, forms, and technical documents. Understanding of software testing, version control, data validation, and deployment. Ability to build secure and maintainable systems suitable for business use. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent attention to detail. Language Requirements Strong professional English is mandatory , both written and spoken. The candidate must be able to understand technical engineering terminology and communicate effectively with GeoTerra’s Canadian team. French proficiency is an asset. Preferred Qualifications Experience automating engineering, environmental, construction, or scientific reports. Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Automate, or similar business platforms. Experience with document templates, tables, figures, maps, and laboratory datasets. Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, or comparable AI platforms. Understanding of data privacy, cybersecurity, and confidential document management. Experience deploying internal AI tools for non-technical users. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is practical, independent, and focused on delivering a working solution. They understand that AI-generated engineering content must be traceable, consistent, and reviewed by qualified professionals. The candidate must be comfortable collaborating with engineers in different disciplines and converting their technical requirements into dependable automation workflows. Contract Objectives Performance during the six-month mission will be evaluated based on: Reduction in report-preparation time. Accuracy and consistency of automated reports. Ease of use for engineers and project managers. Successful integration with existing GeoTerra processes. Quality of documentation and employee training. Reliability, security, and scalability of the completed solution.
