Affordable Housing Project Manager
The Community Economic Development Center (CEDC) is seeking an Affordable Housing Project Manager to expand opportunities to develop more affordable housing in New Bedford. This role is partially funded through HUD Section 4 Capacity Building funds. Job Summary The Project Manager will identify and evaluate housing opportunities, create development plans, proformas, operating budgets and explore carbon-zero energy efficiency standards for new and rehab construction projects. Core Responsibilities Project identification and Feasibility Study: Work with City of New Bedford and other partners to identify and create feasibility plans for possible developmnet sites. Financial Modeling : Assemble development pro-formas, tracking acquisition costs, and funding stacks. Green Development : Evaluate pathways to build carbon-zero energy-efficient affordable housing. Due Diligence : Coordinate appraisals, environmental assessments, and zoning reviews. Required Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in, Community Development, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related fields. Experience : 3–5 years in affordable housing development, adaptive reuse, or neighborhood revitalization. Technical Skills : Advanced proficiency in creating real estate pro-formas and development budgets. Sustainability Knowledge : Familiarity with net-zero, passive house, or carbon-zero building standards.
