About the Role E.J. Basler Co. is seeking an Aerospace Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day execution, coordination, and continuous improvement of our aerospace operations function. This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader who can connect customer requirements, internal systems, production execution, quality expectations, and team accountability into one disciplined operating rhythm. This person will step into a key leadership role currently supported by senior leadership, allowing executive support and strategic initiatives to scale while ensuring the aerospace operations team remains aligned, responsive, and well-managed. The right candidate will be comfortable leading people, managing priorities, working across departments, interpreting customer requirements, improving procedures, and using ERP-driven processes to keep work moving accurately and on time. What You'll Do Team Leadership and Daily Operations Lead and support the aerospace operations team, including coordination with planning, quality, inspection, customer-facing, and production support personnel. Set clear expectations for priorities, ownership, follow-through, and communication across the team. Drive accountability for daily execution, open issues, production priorities, customer requirements, and internal commitments. Help resolve operational bottlenecks by coordinating with production, quality, engineering, purchasing, inspection, and leadership. Create a professional team environment focused on clarity, responsiveness, continuous improvement, and disciplined follow-up. Customer Requirements and Internal System Alignment Serve as a key operational bridge between aerospace customer requirements and E.J. Basler’s internal systems, processes, and workflows. Ensure customer requirements are understood, translated into internal actions, and consistently followed through the appropriate systems and departments. Support customer-facing operational readiness by helping ensure the team is prepared, aligned, and informed. Maintain strong awareness of customer priorities, delivery expectations, quality requirements, and documentation needs. SOP Ownership and Training Matrix Integration Own, maintain, and continuously improve the aerospace operations Standard Operating Procedure. Ensure the SOP remains a living document that governs how the team performs its work and bridges the gap between customer requirements and internal systems. Keep the SOP current as customer requirements, internal processes, ERP workflows, quality expectations, and team responsibilities evolve. Coordinate with the training matrix owner or applicable stakeholders to ensure the SOP is properly reflected in the training matrix. Help determine which team members are required to learn the procedure and ensure training assignments are kept current. Reinforce the SOP through team communication, onboarding, process reviews, and daily operational discipline. Production Planning, Scheduling, and Execution Support Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support production priorities, delivery commitments, job readiness, and issue resolution. Monitor open operational items and help ensure work moves through the organization with clear ownership. Support production flow by identifying gaps in communication, documentation, materials, inspection readiness, or customer requirement interpretation. Help ensure operational decisions are made with visibility to delivery, quality, capacity, and customer impact. Quality, Compliance, and Documentation Discipline Support adherence to aerospace quality expectations, customer-specific requirements, internal procedures, and documentation standards. Partner with quality and inspection teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and followed. Promote a culture where documentation, traceability, process discipline, and customer requirement compliance are treated as core operational responsibilities. Help identify recurring issues and lead corrective process improvements where needed. ERP, Systems, and Process Improvement Use ERP and internal systems to monitor work, track priorities, identify gaps, and support operational decision-making. Improve how the team uses internal systems to manage customer requirements, job status, documentation, communication, and follow-up. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or strengthen workflows. Lead continuous improvement efforts related to standard work, communication handoffs, training, visibility, and accountability. Support change management as new processes, systems, responsibilities, or customer expectations are introduced. Communication and Executive Support Provide clear updates to leadership on operational status, risks, priorities, and decisions needed. Communicate effectively with internal teams and, when appropriate, support customer-facing communications. Escalate issues early with recommended options or next steps. Help convert operational complexity into clear priorities, decisions, and action plans. What You Bring Required 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, production leadership, operations management, planning, quality, or a closely related manufacturing role. Experience leading people, coordinating cross-functional work, or managing operational execution through others. Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, customer requirements, production priorities, and quality expectations. Ability to interpret requirements and convert them into clear internal actions. Strong communication, follow-up, organization, and problem-solving skills. Comfort working in an ERP-driven manufacturing environment. Ability to maintain procedures, standard work, documentation, and training alignment. Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate with urgency, accuracy, and professionalism. Citizenship Requirement: Due to U.S. Export Control laws and regulations, applicants must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). This includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). Preferred Experience in aerospace, defense, precision machining, complex manufacturing, or regulated manufacturing environments. Familiarity with Epicor Kinetic or similar ERP systems. Experience managing or improving SOPs, work instructions, training matrices, or standard work systems. Familiarity with ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, APQP, first article documentation, or aerospace quality expectations. Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or project management experience. Bachelor’s degree or certificates in operations management, engineering, business, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
