Phelps Industries is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented EXPERIENCED Accounts Payable Accountant–Admin Assistant to join our team. Since 1924 , Phelps has manufactured equipment for bulk handling, including tippers, hoppers, hydraulic cylinders, and custom-fabricated equipment . If you have Accounts Payable experience , a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry—we want YOU! Key Duties Answer 6 incoming lines and direct calls, not a switchboard. Process Accounts Payable invoices using a 3-part matching process: Packing List / PO / Invoice Enter non-inventory invoices to the proper G/L accounts Review monthly vendor statements and received-goods reports Contact vendors for missing invoices, tracking information, and PODs Select, match, and file bi-monthly AP check runs Enter daily shop labor hours by job/employee Maintain A/P and A/R filing Create job-production spreadsheets in Excel Prepare manual employee timecards as needed Shipping documentation of outgoing loads Miscellaneous Receiving Ordering of office Supplies for office/shops Perform other duties as assigned by management Cross-Training Opportunities A/R Billing Job Costing / Closings Bank Reconciliations Inventory Qualifications Accounts Payable EXPERIENCE is a must Inventory accounting experience is a plus Dependable and professional Strong work ethic Detail-oriented and organized Excellent data-entry skills Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel Team player with a willingness to learn Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening .
