Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee financial operations, statutory compliance, financial controls and reporting while providing timely financial insights to support business decisions. As the Company is in a growth phase with a lean finance team , this is a hands-on management role . While supported by two Accounts Executives, the Accounts Manager is expected to remain actively involved in day-to-day accounting, provide practical guidance, resolve issues and step in to execute accounting work when required. The ideal candidate is accountable, commercially minded and comfortable leading from the front in a fast-paced and evolving environment . Job Responsibilities: 1. Accounting & Financial Operations Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, including AR, AP, GL, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and financial closing. Remain hands-on in day-to-day accounting activities and personally handle accounting matters where required, particularly complex or time-sensitive issues. Review the accuracy and completeness of accounting entries, reconciliations, supporting documents and financial records. Work closely with the Accounts Executives, providing guidance, troubleshooting issues and stepping in when required to ensure work is completed accurately and on time. Prepare financial statements, management reports, variance analysis and other financial information for Management. 2. Financial Management & Compliance Prepare and monitor budgets, financial forecasts and cash flow projections. Manage banking and payment operations while ensuring compliance with established controls and approval procedures. Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretary and relevant authorities. Ensure timely compliance with corporate tax, MBRS, e-Invoicing and other statutory requirements. Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure audit readiness. 3. Team Leadership & Process Improvement Lead and develop the Accounts Executives through practical guidance, coaching and effective workload allocation. Take ownership of the team's overall deliverables rather than relying solely on delegation and follow-up. Identify and resolve process gaps, recurring issues and operational bottlenecks within the finance function. Establish and continuously improve accounting policies, internal controls and finance processes. Drive automation, system enhancements and workflow improvements to support the Company's growth. 4. Business & Management Support Provide financial advice, cost analysis, profitability insights and recommendations to support business decisions. Monitor funding requirements and prepare funding requests when additional capital is required. Work closely with Management and other departments on financial and operational matters. Perform other finance and accounting-related duties as assigned by Management. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA or equivalent is an added advantage. Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, Malaysian statutory requirements and corporate governance, with familiarity in MBRS, e-Invoicing and Malaysian tax compliance. Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as AutoCount, SQL or equivalent ERP/accounting systems. Hands-on and technically strong, with the ability to personally handle accounting matters, review work in detail and resolve issues when required. Able to lead and develop a lean finance team while taking ownership of both team deliverables and day-to-day accounting operations. Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and a high level of integrity. Able to work independently, collaborate across departments and adapt effectively to a fast-paced and growing business environment.
