Accounts Assistant – Construction
Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Assistant to support our finance and accounting operations within the construction industry. The ideal candidate should have practical accounting experience, preferably within a construction or contracting company , and a good understanding of daily accounting procedures. This structure aligns with common Bahrain construction accounting roles, including AP/AR, project expenses, reconciliations, invoicing, and VAT documentation. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily accounting entries and bookkeeping. Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other accounting documents. Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) . Record and monitor project-related expenses and costs. Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes, and payment documentation. Perform bank, supplier, customer, and account reconciliations. Maintain petty cash records and monitor company expenses. Track outstanding invoices and assist with payment follow-ups. Maintain accurate and organized accounting and project-related records. Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and supporting schedules. Maintain records required for Bahrain VAT and related documentation. Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and project teams regarding accounts-related matters. Provide general administrative and accounting support to the Accountant/Finance Manager. Perform other accounting duties assigned by management. Requirements Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field . 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience , preferably in construction or contracting. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping. Experience with AP, AR, invoicing, reconciliations, petty cash, and expense tracking. Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems. Knowledge of Bahrain VAT is an advantage. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Good communication and organizational skills. Construction/GCC experience is an advantage. Must be currently available in Bahrain. Immediate joiner or available on short notice is highly preferred. Transferable or cancelled visa is an advantage. Preferred Candidate Candidates with Bahrain construction/contracting experience and the ability to join immediately will be given preference.
