# Accounting Manager **Vertex Wireless** · West Chicago, IL 60185 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 3 дня назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Job Overview Vertex Wireless is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information. This position manages the general ledger and month-end close process, prepares and reviews financial reports, maintains strong internal controls, and provides financial analysis and support to management. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the VP of Finance and other internal departments to ensure accounting policies and procedures are consistently followed and financial information supports sound business decisions. In addition this role has a high degree of external communication with vendors, creditors, and business partners. Essential Responsibilities Accounting Operations Oversee daily accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, account reconciliations, sales/use tax filings, and vendor rebate programs. A/R Insurance program management. Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes (Including Banking and Financial audits). Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting principles and company policies. Monitor accounting schedules and ensure financial deadlines are consistently met. Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions. Financial Reporting Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports. Analyze financial results and investigate significant variances from budget, forecast, or prior periods. Prepare supporting schedules and reports for management and external parties. Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Provide financial information and analysis to department managers and senior leadership. Internal Controls & Compliance Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies. Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations. Maintain accurate and organized accounting records. Monitor processes for opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and financial controls. Team Leadership Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff as assigned. Review work for accuracy and completeness and provide coaching when needed. Establish priorities and ensure accounting deadlines are met. Promote a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented accounting environment. Process Improvement Evaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting systems and technology. Develop and maintain standardized accounting procedures and documentation. Participate in special projects and other financial initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close processes. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve accounting issues. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals at all levels of an organziation Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage changing priorities and workflow. Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates. Proficient in Office 365, particularly with Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems, particularly with Netsuite, is a plus.
