About Midwest CPA Midwest CPA is a boutique accounting firm that specializes in supporting acquisition entrepreneurs and small business buyers. We work with self-funded searchers, independent sponsors, and small private equity firms across the country. From diligence to ongoing accounting/tax support, we help clients navigate every stage of the acquisition lifecycle. Our team serves as a hands on partner for clients before, during, and after closing making sure they have the numbers, systems, and guidance they need to succeed. What You’ll Do: As Accounting Manager, you’ll oversee a portfolio of accounting clients, while leading a small team of staff accountants. Your role will include: -Managing monthly close processes and reviewing financials for accuracy and insight -Coaching and supporting your team to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables -Acting as the main point of contact for client questions related to accounting processes, cash flow, and financial reporting -Identifying areas to improve client systems and workflows (e.g., accounting system upgrades, KPI tracking, SOPs) -Supporting onboarding of new clients and transitions from prior firms -Collaborating with our tax and advisory teams to deliver a unified client experience What We’re Looking For -5+ years of accounting experience -2+ years of experience managing people or reviewing the work of others -Strong knowledge of accrual-basis accounting and GAAP fundamentals -Excellent working knowledge of QuickBooks Online -High attention to detail and the ability to think critically about financial data -Clear, confident communicator both written and verbal -US-based with the ability to work remotely during Central Time business hours Bonus Points For: - CPA license or progress toward it - Familiarity with tools like Gusto and Ramp What We Offer: - Competitive salary ($80-100k depending on experience) - Incentive bonus based on performance - Unlimited PTO - Fully remote work environment - Positive work culture with opportunities for growth - CPE reimbursement Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) matching Flexible schedule Paid time off Parental leave Work from home Work Location: Remote
