  1. Executive Summary & Core Purpose

The Accounting and Finance Manager serves as the primary strategic controller and financial anchor across the Easting Inc. group of companies. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this role moves beyond day-to-day transactional processing to establish financial governance, capital optimization, statutory compliance, risk mitigation, and robust Odoo financial architecture.

The primary objective is to lead the accounting and finance function, safeguard group assets, manage treasury and cash flow strategies, enforce internal controls, oversee tax and audit management, and deliver decision-ready financial intelligence to senior management to fuel commercial expansion.

  1. Governance, Independence & Financial Control
  • Organizational Independence: Positions independent authority over financial accounting, compliance, and internal audits to maintain unvarnished objective financial oversight across all business units, regional lines (Luzon, VisMin), and product categories (Tea, Spirits).
  • Control Boundary: Establishes and enforces delegation-of-authority matrices, capital expenditure limits, pricing/discount clearances, and Odoo posting approval workflows.
  • Operational Oversight vs. Strategic Review: Directs the execution of transactional accounting (AP, AR, Treasury, Inventory, Tax) through clear supervisory governance while reserving managerial capacity for high-level financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, risk escalation, and team coaching.
  1. Key Responsibilities & Functional Allocations

A. Financial Governance, Closing & Reporting (30%)

  • Financial Oversight & Period Close: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes across all group entities, ensuring accurate, GAAP/PFRS-compliant general ledger reconciliation and timely reporting.
  • Executive Financial Intelligence: Produce consolidated multi-entity financial statements, variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget), and management reports covering revenue trends, gross margin health, EBITDA, and operational expenditure.
  • Intercompany Governance: Oversee intercompany billing, transfer pricing models, debt settlement, and eliminations across group subsidiaries (e.g., CSI, EAI, MSI) to prevent cross-entity friction and reporting distortions.
  • Policy Standardization: Develop, implement, and maintain group-wide accounting policies, charting of accounts standardization, and documentation guidelines.

B. Treasury, Working Capital & Cash Flow Strategy (25%)

  • Capital & Liquidity Management: Formulate daily, weekly, and rolling 13-week cash flow forecasts to optimize working capital across entities, managing foreign exchange risks and credit facility utilization.
  • AR & Credit Risk Oversight: Direct credit control policies, authorize high-value credit limits, manage bad debt exposure, and co-lead escalation for long-outstanding accounts with regional sales leadership.
  • AP & Disbursement Strategy: Governance over payment schedules, managing liquidity trade-offs between early-payment discounts, cash conservation, statutory obligations, and key vendor relationships.
  • Banking Relationships: Oversee corporate banking facilities, credit lines, trade finance, letters of credit, and foreign currency exchange transactions.

C. Tax, Regulatory Compliance & External Audit Governance (20%)

  • Statutory & Tax Strategy: Direct corporate income tax strategies, deferred tax planning, VAT, withholding taxes, local business taxes, and statutory withholdings (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
  • Audit & Tax Defense: Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors, legal counsel, and tax authorities (BIR); manage Letters of Authority (LOA), tax assessments, and statutory audits.
  • Regulatory Governance: Ensure complete, on-time submissions of all statutory returns and reporting filings with the SEC, BIR, LGU, and other governing bodies across all company entities.

D. Internal Controls, Odoo ERP Architecture & Risk Management (15%)

  • Odoo Financial Architecture: Master the financial, accounting, inventory valuation, and procurement modules in Odoo ERP; enforce posting discipline, automated reconciliation workflows, and account mapping.
  • Internal Control Environment: Design, audit, and enforce robust internal control policies, approval limit matrices, and segregation of duties to prevent fraud, misstatement, or unauthorized adjustments.
  • Data & System Auditability: Audit user system permissions, monitor manual journal entries, log change histories, and eliminate unauthorized transaction overrides within the ERP.

E. Strategic Costing, Inventory Valuation & Leadership (10%)

  • Landed-Cost & Inventory Governance: Oversee landed-cost allocation frameworks (customs, freight, duties), product costing methodologies, gross-margin sanity checks, and physical count reconciliation procedures.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and evaluate direct reports; structure workload distribution to avoid transactional bottlenecks, and implement cross-training to ensure full operational backup coverage.
