Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant/Tax Preparer Instructor to join our financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and supporting various accounting functions. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex tax scenarios, including estate planning, corporate accounting, and regulatory compliance. Duties Prepare individual, corporate, and estate tax returns with precision, ensuring adherence to current tax laws and regulations Conduct comprehensive tax planning and consulting for clients, including estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law considerations Perform detailed financial analysis and report writing to interpret financial statements and support decision-making processes Reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and bank statements using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage Assist with regulatory reporting requirements including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards Support audit processes through detailed documentation, account reconciliation, and compliance checks Collaborate with clients to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively Requirements Proven experience in accounting and finance roles with a focus on tax reporting and compliance Strong knowledge of tax law, tax reporting procedures, and tax return preparation for individuals and corporations Familiarity with regulatory compliance accounting standards such as SOX and GAAP Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms Experience with estate planning, securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), mergers & acquisitions, or non-profit accounting is a plus Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately Effective client communication skills to explain complex financial information clearly Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA certification is preferred but not required Join our team to leverage your accounting expertise in a vibrant environment where your skills make a real difference.
