Accountant (General) Decode Administration Pty Ltd (part of Decode Group) Location: Milsons Point, Sydney NSW Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $90,000 including superannuation Department: Finance Reporting to: Financial Controller About Decode Administration Decode Administration Pty Ltd, part of Decode Group, provides financial and administrative support to the broader group. Our Finance team supports the business through accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, statutory compliance and sound commercial processes across a dynamic construction and property environment. We are seeking an experienced Accountant (General) to join our Finance team on a full-time basis at our Head Office in Milsons Point, NSW. About the Role As an Accountant (General), you will support the effective financial control and operations of the business and be responsible for accurate and timely accounting, financial and statutory reporting, general ledger control, taxation and compliance activities. Working closely with the Financial Controller, Management Accountant and broader Finance team, you will also contribute to budgeting, financial analysis, internal controls and improvements to the company's financial systems and processes. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Maintaining and reviewing the General Ledger and Trial Balance and ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded; Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating and resolving unreconciled items; Preparing and supporting monthly financial, management and statutory reporting within required reporting deadlines; Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, cost management and financial analysis to support business planning and decision-making; Examining operating costs, income and expenditure and providing relevant financial analysis; Preparing monthly and quarterly BAS and supporting other taxation and statutory compliance requirements; Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including payments, cash receipts and outstanding receivables; Completing bank and credit card reconciliations; Supporting treasury and cash-flow activities; Preparing reconciliations, schedules and supporting documentation for year-end and other audit requirements; Maintaining effective accounting systems, financial records and internal controls; Analysing financial information, identifying issues and assisting with the resolution of accounting and financial matters; Ensuring financial reporting and record-keeping requirements comply with relevant statutory, governance and internal control requirements; Reviewing and improving financial policies, systems, processes and procedures to strengthen efficiency and financial controls; and Working collaboratively with Finance, project teams, management and other internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline ; Demonstrated professional accounting experience; Sound knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, statutory compliance, taxation, budgeting, cost management and internal controls; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Experience using computer-based accounting systems and financial reporting tools; Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately within deadlines; Good communication and interpersonal skills; and The ability to work effectively with finance colleagues, project teams, management and external stakeholders. Experience within property development, construction or a multi-entity environment will be highly regarded. CA/CPA qualification, or progress towards CA/CPA, is desirable.
