a) Assist in developing and executing financial strategies that supportchurch objectives. b) Supervise and mentor accounting employees and ensure accurate records ofall accounts payable and member contribution records. c) Facilitate the annual budgeting process by working with variousdepartments and ministry leaders. d) Make budget recommendations to the Church Committee. e) Review the budget on a monthly basis and report to the Church Committee. f) Analyse financial data, trend, and performance metrics to informdecision-making. g) Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance withaccounting standards, regulations and financial reporting requirements. h) Implement and maintain internal control ands and financial procedures. i) Oversee cash flow management, including the monitoring cash balances,investments and banking relationships. j) Manage liquidity and optimize the use of financial resources. k) Contribute to the selection and utilization of financial systems andsoftware. l) Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting. m) Ensure all church purchases are procured at the lowest prices, wherepossible. n) Coach accounting staff and encourage continuing education and skillsdevelopment. o) Participate actively in the Finance Sub-Committee meetings. p) Close year-end management account and review draft audit report. Gospel Light Christian Church (Gospel Light) opened our doors in 1988. Back then, we were a small family church of less than 100. Without a building of our own, we worshipped in various venues. Despite our nomadic lifestyle, God blessed us with the increase in numbers. In 1999, we finally had a church building to call our own. But God continued to pour out His blessings and grew our numbers further. We burst through the seams of our building and went back to worshipping at various venues – schools and hotels. Gospel Light is committed to leading people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. This is demonstrated across our various congregations - English, Chinese, Filipino, Dialect and Bahasa. On a typical Sunday, about 1000 Gospeliters worship across our various congregations in two different locations. In Oct 2013, God blessed us through a successful bid of a land parcel in Punggol, where we will be building our next church building. We moved into Punggol in Dec 2016 and are excited to reach the community there. The Mission of Gospel Light is “Leading Generations into a Life-changing Relationship with Jesus Christ.” 1.
