We are a laid back, family-first, private and remote accounting firm based in Houston, TX with clients across the United States. We strive to give our clients financial confidence by taking control of their bookkeeping, accounting, and tax needs in a laid-back, comfortable, professional environment. We are not your stereotypical accountants! Main Responsibilities : Responsible for the entire monthly bookkeeping process for a minimum of 5 clients, including transaction classification and account reconciliations Timely preparation of month-end journal entries, workpapers and financial reports for each client Preparation of Individual Federal and State Tax Returns (primarily including Schedule C's, and home office deductions) for each client Preparation of S-Corp Federal and State Tax Returns for each client Managing and meeting all internal deadlines, no exceptions Clear communication with both clients and internal team Be available to work 20-50 hours per month, plus an additional 40 hours during tax season (between February and March) To succeed in this role, you must: Be incredibly organized, detail-orientated and highly motivated by deadlines Have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in both bookkeeping and tax preparation Have direct experience preparing Individual and S-Corp Tax Returns Understand how to read and interpret a Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement Be proficient in QuickBooks Online, Excel and Google Sheets Have excellent written and verbal communication skills Be comfortable working in a remote environment with a virtual team Possess impressive problem-solving skills It's a bonus if you have: A bachelor's degree in Accounting A CPA or EA license Experience in public accounting, primarily taxes Experience in Gusto, Tax Dome and ProConnect Tax Benefits: Being fully remote Completely flexible schedule $30-40 per hour, based on experience Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule Experience: Individual Tax Preparation: 2 years (Required) S-Corp Tax Preparation: 2 years (Required) QuickBooks Online: 2 years (Required) Work Location: Remote
