As the company continues to expand its operations, we are strengthening our Accounts and Finance department to support financial accuracy, operational efficiency, statutory compliance and effective internal financial controls. We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented and dependable Accountant who can independently manage day-to-day accounting responsibilities and support the company's growing financial operations. Role Overview The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounting transactions, preparing reconciliations, coordinating statutory compliance activities and supporting financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), management and other departments to ensure timely, accurate and well-organised accounting operations. This is a hands-on accounting position requiring strong practical accounting knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Bookkeeping - Manage day-to-day accounting entries, including purchases, sales, expenses, receipts, payments and journal entries. - Maintain accurate books of accounts using Tally or other accounting software. - Ensure proper classification and recording of financial transactions. - Maintain ledgers, supporting documents, invoices, vouchers and accounting records. - Verify purchase invoices, expense claims and payment requests against supporting documentation. - Assist in maintaining fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules and related records. - Support monthly, quarterly and annual books of accounts closing activities. Banking & Reconciliation - Prepare regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. - Maintain records of bank payments, receipts and transfers. - Monitor outstanding receivables and payables. - Prepare vendor and customer ledger reconciliations. - Maintain payment schedules and coordinate approved payments. - Assist in tracking advances, deposits, reimbursements and other financial transactions. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance - Assist in preparing GST returns and reconciling GST records with books of accounts. - Maintain GST input tax credit records and perform GSTR-2B reconciliations. - Handle TDS calculations, deductions, records and return preparation support. - Maintain records required for applicable statutory and tax compliances. - Coordinate with the CFO, auditors, tax consultants and other professionals. - Ensure statutory accounting records and supporting documents are properly maintained. - Stay updated on relevant accounting and taxation requirements. Financial Reporting & Audit Support - Prepare monthly accounting reports, expense summaries and financial statements for internal review. - Assist in preparing trial balances, profit and loss statements and balance sheet schedules. - Support statutory audits, internal audits and other financial reviews. - Prepare schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation required by auditors. - Assist the CFO with management information system (MIS) reports, budgets and financial analysis. - Maintain accurate records and documentation to support the financial reporting requirements of a listed company. - Help monitor department-wise and location-wise expenses and budgets. Inventory & Operational Accounting - Coordinate with farm, processing, procurement and other operational departments for accounting-related information. - Maintain accounting records relating to purchases, raw materials, finished goods and inventory movements. - Assist in stock valuation, inventory reconciliation and verification of operational expenses. - Ensure purchase invoices and operational expenses are accurately recorded and supported by appropriate documentation. - Support location-wise cost tracking and operational financial reporting. Internal Controls & Documentation - Ensure financial transactions are properly documented and processed in accordance with company procedures. - Identify discrepancies, missing supporting documents and accounting irregularities. - Maintain organised digital and physical accounting records. - Follow internal approval procedures and financial controls. - Assist in improving accounting processes, reporting systems and documentation practices. - Maintain confidentiality of financial, employee, vendor and company information. Candidate Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance or a related field. - 3–5 years of relevant practical accounting experience. - Strong working knowledge of Tally Prime or Tally ERP. - Good understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping and financial reconciliations. - Practical experience in GST, TDS and related statutory accounting requirements. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, PivotTables and financial reports. - Experience handling vendor payments, customer receipts and ledger reconciliations. - Ability to prepare accounting reports and maintain accurate financial documentation. - Good written and spoken English. - Strong numerical accuracy, organisational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to independently manage assigned accounting responsibilities and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Preference will be given to candidates with experience in: - Manufacturing, agriculture, FMCG, trading or processing industries. - Accounting for companies with multiple operating locations. - Inventory accounting, stock reconciliation and cost tracking. - Statutory and internal audit coordination. - Financial reporting and MIS preparation. - Accounting operations in a private or publicly listed limited company. - ERP or accounting software beyond Tally. - Working under a CFO or senior finance professional. Experience with listed-company accounting and compliance documentation will be an advantage, but is not mandatory.
