Account Manager - Enterprise Accounts
The Short Version
SmartScout is the intelligence platform for the Amazon marketplace. Brands, agencies, sellers, and service providers use us to see who’s winning on Amazon, where the openings are, and what the data says before they make a move. Several publicly traded companies run on SmartScout as core infrastructure.
Our enterprise customer base keeps growing, so we’re adding to the account management team. You’ll own the relationship after the sale, from onboarding through renewal and expansion, and make sure customers get enough value to stay for years. You’ll report to our Head of Enterprise Accounts who built the playbook. Your job is to run it well and make it better.
What the Job Looks Like
When a deal closes, the account is yours. You’ll run onboarding, get teams using the product, track renewal timelines, and spot when a 5 seat account should be a 25 seat account.
The people you work with run Amazon operations at serious companies. They expect you to show them workflows they haven’t tried yet. They also expect you to know their business well enough to catch a problem before they bring it up.
The commercial side is yours too. You’ll negotiate renewals, set pricing, move accounts onto current plans, and carry a growth number. Upsells run through account management, so you find them and you close them.
Many of our biggest customers pull SmartScout data through our API, MCP, or Snowflake shares. Expect to spend as much time with their data and engineering teams as with their Amazon managers, and to explain how our numbers get built.
When a customer questions a number, you own it. You’ll dig in, work it with our dev team, and keep the customer posted until it’s resolved.
You’ll take a book of accounts and run it, from QBRs and sales handoffs to account health and honest feedback on what’s working. As the team grows there’s room to move into a senior role, but it starts with doing this job well.
Day to Day
- Own enterprise accounts from handoff through renewal
- Run onboarding with kickoff calls, success criteria, and training built around each team’s use case
- Watch usage, stakeholder engagement, and renewal risk, and step in before a problem turns into churn
- Lead quarterly business reviews that connect SmartScout usage to the customer’s results
- Find and close expansion, including added seats, API access, MCP, ad hoc tools, and Data Lake connections
- Run renewals start to finish, including pricing and plan changes
- Support technical customers on API, MCP, and Snowflake integrations, and train their data teams on our methodology
- Own data accuracy questions and work with our dev team to investigate and close the loop
- Ask happy customers for referrals, case studies, and testimonials
- Know the product well enough to train customers on new features and help them use what they already pay for
- Work with sales on handoffs and pass customer feedback to leadership to shape the roadmap
- Comfortable getting technical. APIs, data exports, and methodology questions don’t scare you, even if you’re not an engineer. You don't need to be technical, you just need to be curious and willing to learn.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to check every box. Here’s the profile that fits.
- 2 to 4 years in account management, customer success, sales or another client facing role at a SaaS or data company
- Organized enough to manage 60 accounts without letting any go quiet
- Comfortable running commercial conversations about renewals, pricing, and expansion
- Comfortable getting technical. APIs, data exports, and methodology questions don’t scare you, even if you’re not an engineer
- You notice when an account starts drifting before the customer says anything
- Amazon experience helps but isn’t required. If you’re curious, you’ll pick up the space fast
- You’ve used HubSpot or a similar CRM and you keep your data clean
- You like helping people get value from a product
