Someone who understands the pressures facing practices and PCNs on the front line. Someone who knows that strong operational performance isn’t just about hitting a KPI - it’s about giving clinical teams the structure and support they need to perform at their best. And someone who can look at a service and ask: How can we make this even better? We want you to bring your experience to the table - and have the confidence to use it. This isn’t a role where you’ll simply keep things running We’re not looking for someone to inherit a set of processes and maintain the status quo. We’re looking for someone curious enough to question how things work, experienced enough to know what great Primary Care operations look like and confident enough to make improvements happen. You’ll need to balance the strategic with the practical. One day that could mean analysing operational performance and identifying an opportunity to improve a service. Operational performance matters to us. We’ll expect you to understand the numbers, challenge performance and use data to make better decisions. But we never want to lose sight of what those numbers represent. Behind every KPI is a service. Behind every service are healthcare professionals trying to deliver their best work. And ultimately, behind everything we do are patients relying on Primary Care. That’s why operational excellence matters to us. What could success look like? We want you to make your mark on this role. After your first 12 months, we’d hope you’ve: Built strong relationships with our clinical teams and Primary Care partners. You understand GP practices and Primary Care Networks, and you’re comfortable working with stakeholders across different levels of the NHS. You’ve led healthcare teams at scale and know how to get the best from people while maintaining high expectations.
