We work with a diverse range of clients across the Northwest, our clients cover all sectors from law to social media, and everything in between. Our services include end user support, infrastructure management (cloud and on-premise), DC hosting, VOIP systems, cybersecurity, and network expertise. The Role This is not your typical support role — it's a highly technical position where 80% of your time will be dedicated to leading and delivering infrastructure, cloud, and networking projects. The remaining 20% will involve acting as a senior escalation point for the support team, resolving complex technical issues that fall outside the scope of 1st and 2nd line engineers. This role is primarily office-based, requiring you to work in the office five days per week. However, you will also need to travel to clients within the Northwest, with travel expenses paid. A successful candidate must have a full UK driving license and access to a car. Start date: September or sooner Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver full network deployments across switches, firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco, SonicWall), VPNs, and secure routing for a range of client environments. Design and implement virtualisation platforms – including Hyper-V and VMware – for new infrastructure rollouts and migrations. Architect, deploy, and optimise Microsoft Azure environments, including identity and access management (Entra ID), Azure Virtual Machines, and hybrid integrations. Lead cloud migrations and SaaS solution rollouts, ensuring seamless transitions to Microsoft 365, Teams, Intune, and other modern workplace platforms. Act as an escalation point for complex support cases, offering senior-level troubleshooting, diagnostics, and permanent resolutions. Produce high-quality technical documentation, including HLDs/LLDs, deployment plans, and project handover packs for clients and internal teams. Essential Skills: Minimum 3 years' experience in a 3rd line or network role at an MSP Strong networking knowledge, especially around Fortinet (preferred), Cisco, and/or SonicWall firewalls. Expertise in designing and deploying LAN/WAN, VLAN, routing, and firewall rulesets. Hands-on experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware for infrastructure builds and migrations. Comfortable working independently on project delivery and confident in client-facing technical discussions. Solid understanding of security best practices in network and virtual environments. Desirable: Fortinet NSE certification(s), Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or similar. Experience with Azure, Office 365 migrations, and hybrid environments. Familiarity with RMM and PSA tools used in the MSP space.
