2nd Shift Operations Supervisor

Overview Utilizing your leadership and communication skills, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for directly supervising and coordinating the activities of production and operating workers. Operations Supervisor are expected to lead-by-example and have an in-depth understanding of how to analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies. The Operations Supervisor then needs to be able to work through his resources to implement change, creating a continuous process improvement environment with customer and profit goals at its roots. All of this is accomplished while maintaining a safe and respectful working environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Operations Supervisor is accountable to the following tasks: Enforce safety and sanitation regulations. Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Employees — Providing guidance and direction to employees, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance. Coaching and Developing Others — Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills. Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Employees — Providing guidance and direction to employees, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance. Coaching and Developing Others — Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills. Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked. Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals. Making Decisions and Solving Problems — Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Getting Information — Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, Employees or Customers — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, employees and customers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Qualifications: Ability to motivate staff to generate quality work product under strict deadlines Need to be able to monitor staffing levels to ensure productivity is efficient daily, anticipating changes in the workload to be able to flex up or down as demand changes Must possess an eye for details in order to ensure accurate, quality work from your staff Experience in account management, working for clients with competing demands of labor and expertise is expected. Must be comfortable interacting with customers in order to understand their needs and evaluate paths to success or any gaps in performance expectations Initiative to always explore better ways to work safer, more accurately and quicker is expected Integrity is key in all interactions with your staff and customers Effective written and verbal skills required Experience in big box shipping compliance requirements expected Ability to monitor and analyze KPI’s to drive productivity for a work unit Problem solving using root cause analysis expected Three years minimum Warehouse Management System experience expected Experience in Microsoft Office Suite expected Experience with Manhattan is preferred Bachelor’s degree in logistics or similar field preferred Schedule: Monday- Friday 3pm-12a approximately (with some weekends as needed) Benefits: Competitive medical benefits Dental, Vision and Additional insurance available Basic Life Insurance 401k Plan—Fully vested after 1 year work anniversary+ Pet Insurance and Voluntary Benefits Chance to grow in a family run organization Pay: $34.00 - $36.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Work Location: In person
